Queensmead Primary Academy

Family Support

Here at Queensmead Primary Academy we are pleased to have a great support team.

If you do have any concerns or worries or would like to speak to someone either in person or via e-mail or telephone then think about contacting Miss Hargreaves our Inclusion and Family Support Worker.

Miss Hargreaves is a part-time (W-Fr) member of staff who supports both pupils and their families with a wide range of issues from health and wellbeing through to problems with housing. She has a wealth of experience and is happy to meet individual parents or families to signpost them to further services or support them in school.

She is also responsible for co-ordinating our fun and exciting parent events and Family Learning opportunities.  You can find out more about these by checking the newsletters for information.

To arrange a meeting please use one of the following options:

Anything that is discussed will be treated in the strictest of confidence. If you feel you can't speak to anyone then please don't hesitate to send an e-mail.

Chat Health

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust runs a confidential secure text messaging service for parents of children aged 0-19 years called Chat Health. The service operates Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, excluding bank holidays. All texts will be responded to by a public health nurse (health visitor/school nurse) within 24 hours. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the line reopens.

  • Leicester City: text 07520 615381

  • Leicestershire & Rutland: text 07520 615382

The school nurse also holds drop-in sessions at the Academy on the first Wednesday of every month for parents to pop in and ask about any issues, questions or concerns that they may have about their child.

So far we have had a good turnout at these drop-in sessions and we hope that this continues.

Please be aware that during the Coronavirus pandemic, school nurse drop-in sessions will not be taking place. If you would like a referral to be made on your behalf please contact Miss Hargreaves using the contact information above.
